What's the perfect thing for a little prince or princess? A crown of course!
When my sister Marissa and I get together it's always a great time and even better when we're crafting. Since together we have a little prince and princess we thought these would be the perfect accessory without getting the cheap plastic ones that break within a day. This tutorial is super easy and with your imagination you can personalize it for your little one.
First up is supplies! You'll need:
Spool of Lace
Fabric Stiffener (ours came from Hobby Lobby)
Scissors
Sheet of Paper for Form
Packing Tape
Hot Glue Gun
Metallic Craft Paint
(Optional: Jewels, Glitter, and anything fun you would like to embellish with!)
First, you will want to make your form by: Cutting a piece of paper lengthwise, tape it together, measure paper around child's head for size, wrap packing tape or plastic wrap all around form so the fabric stiffener won't stick to the paper, and then measure lace around form for size and cut to length.
Now, you dip lace into the fabric stiffener until totally saturated, then squeegee all of the excess off. Then wrap lace around form over the packing tape.
Lastly, you hot glue the ends of lace together, let crown fully dry, then peel form off.
Now you can put a layer of metallic paint on and embellish with glitter, jewels, anything you can think of!
This is what we ended up with!
Aren't they fun!? They can be great photo-props and perfect for the little girl that loves to dress up!
If you don't want to take the time to make these yourself, you can always custom order them from my boutique Chubby Cheek Boutique. Otherwise, they were a fun way to spend an afternoon!
